TEST PREP HELP FOR High School Entrance Exams
For students graduating from middle school, the thought of starting high school is incredibly exciting. They will begin the process of determining which college and even career they might pursue in the future. Because of the important role high school plays in laying the path for success for students, students and parents alike do their best to enroll in top high schools. Many private and parochial schools, however, require that students first pass high school entrance exams in order to gain admission.
This testing is designed to determine a student's academic capabilities and class placement. At Huntington Learning Center, we have developed a highly successful high school entrance exam prep program to help students ace their high school entrance exams and gain admittance into the high school of their choice.
High School Entrance Exams We Cover
In order to best prepare the students we serve, our experienced tutors are equipped to prepare students for a number of high school entrance exams, including the Secondary School Admission Test (SSAT), the Independent School Entrance Exam (ISEE), and the High School Placement Test (HSPT).
Secondary School Admission Test (SSAT)
This standardized entrance exam is taken by students who wish to attend independent schools, and is comprised of four multiple-choice sections including quantitative math, verbal, reading comprehension, and essay.
Independent School Entrance Exam (ISEE)
This exam, which is taken by students attempting to enter private and non-Catholic religious schools, is a multiple choice exam comprised of verbal reasoning, quantitative reasoning, reading comprehension, mathematics achievement, and essay sections.
High School Placement Test (HSPT)
The High School Placement Test is taken by 8th grade students who wish to gain admittance to parochial high schools. The HSPT is a five-section, multiple-choice standardized exam with sections including verbal skills, quantitative skills, reading, mathematics, and language.
