Celebrating 10 years of giving every student the best education possible!
After a successful career in corporate human resources where she enjoyed helping employees build their careers, Carol Sherron moved back to Lakeland to help local students achieve all their goals and dreams. Carol knows that helping people develop successful careers begins with a solid education. She opened the Lakeland Huntington Learning Center in 2006, with the simple mission to give every student the best education possible. Over the last 10 years, Carol and her team have had the privilege of helping thousands of students reach their academic goals.

Building a strong community is part of providing every student with the best education possible. Carol values the time she spends working with the Polk County PTA on business relations and serving on the George Jenkins High School Student Advisory Committee having held the position of both secretary and president in the past. Carol and her staff host free community workshops every month on topics such as homework, summer learning, and college admissions. These workshops are held at Huntington Learning Center as well as in local schools and other community venues. Carol and her staff also work hard to form community partnerships that benefit local students. They have worked with the Lakeland chapter of the NAACP to provide free practice SAT and ACT exams counseling to local youth. Carol and her team also partner with Polk Education Foundation on many projects like the Teacher of the Year Banquet, Teachers’ Closet, and other fundraisers. Carol’s team also gets involved in other local PTA projects and events like the We3 Expo, Parent University, sponsoring school clubs, and fundraising for other community organizations.
